How do I set my footprint timeline?

Your footprint timeline is the baseline period we require in order for the entire system to work, your company's footprint data will be derived from your footprint timeline. A footprint can span one or many years. If you select multiple years they must be consecutive. The more years you select the more historical data we will need but the more accurate your targets will be.

Setting your footprint timeline

1. Enter your "Trails" tab and select "Office Based Business Trail"
2. Once you have entered the Onboarding Trail your first step will be setting your footprint timeline.
3. Select the year(s) you want as your timeline 
4. Select the first month of your carbon year 

Carbon years

A carbon year is not always the same as your company's fiscal year but we recommend that they are the same, to help align your reporting periods.

Covid-19 impact

We are trying to get an accurate understanding of what "business as usual" is for you. So ensure you are mindful of the impact that COVID-19 has had, if you have been significantly affected, then ensure your accounting goes back before COVID-19 so that the targets you set later will be credible and realistic.
