Welcome to Carbonhound Admins! Let’s get you set up with these easy-to-follow steps.
1. Creating your account
Sign Up
Sign up with your email and click on the link in your mailbox (if you can’t see the email check your spam/junk folders). Then you will be directed to the official signup page where you can enter:
- Your Password
- Your Name
- Company Name
- Industry
- Company Country
2. Onboarding Trail: Office Based Organization
Trails are the journeys that we have designed to make your onboarding more simple. In the Trails tab you can select the onboarding trail that fits your companies needs(Learn more about Trails).
1. Setting your Footprint Timeline
Footprint timelines are a baseline that we will use to compare your future data and reduction goals against. We require at least 1 year to create a carbon footprint, but recommend 3 years to help you understand trends and create more achievable goals. Baseline years should represent a typical operating year. Read more about baseline years here.
2. Office Onboarding
- Adding your office details
- Add your office address
- Add your office move in dates
- If it’s a historical office, add in your move out dates
- Select if it is a company owned building
- Adding your energy usage
- Select the energy types this location uses (If you’re not sure what energy your offices uses read:What do I do if I don’t know what types of energy my offices uses? )
- If you know all the energy types your location uses:
- Select the energy types from the list
- Select if you have access to billing (If you have access utility bills or can retrieve the amount of energy you use select yes).
- Select if your energy is separately metered (If your utility provider is measuring usage for your business separately then select yes).
- If your office energy is not separately metered you will have to enter the building square footage and your office’s square footage.
- Once you have added all of your office details you will have to enter the energy usage items for the selected baseline year(s).
- As you add items your Data Coverage Chart will start to populate
- Select the energy types from the list
3. Employee Onboarding
- Invite my team
- Add your teammates emails and we will send them an invite email. Help for your employees getting onboarded can be found here
- You can manage invitations at any point via the “Manage my Invitations” button or on the My Company page.
- Your Details
- Add your start date
- Add your commute
- Add your work from home details
4. Business Travel
- Select “Add New” button
- Enter the owner (the traveller) of the travel item.
- Select a transportation type
- Fill out travel details
- You can also Bulk Upload travel items from the Data Tab
5. Custom Sources
- Custom sources are used in carbon accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness in tracking an organization's greenhouse gas emissions. They allow you to add specific emissions sources or data that may not be included in the default emissions calculation method. This way, you can have a more comprehensive view of your emissions and identify areas for improvement in reducing your carbon footprint. Read more about how to import data into custom sources here
6. Targets
- Selecting a baseline year
- Your baseline year must be included in your footprint timeline and represent a typical year.
- Click “Add Target”
- Choose your target type
- Determine how much you want to reduce your emissions over the selected time frame by entering a percentage or by dragging the slider to your desired percentage.
- Committing to your targets (Editing my targets)
